Since moving back to the states from Germany, I am learning the importance of clipping coupons and shopping for bargains. In Germany, friends sent me their expired coupons to use at the commissary. But, now that isn’t an option and I’m on my own.
And since we’re not living on post, I have also been doing more shopping at real grocery stores. By using coupons and my Kroger card (Kroger is my favorite grocery store here, by the way), I can actually do even better than I’ve ever done shopping at the commissary.
I usually sit down during the kids’ quiet time on Sunday afternoon to do my meal planning and write out my shopping list. That’s also when I go through the Kroger flyer to find sales and clip and organize the coupons that I will use. Then I’m all ready to do my shopping for the week when my husband returns home from work!
I recently found a site that allows me to see what coupons are in the Sunday paper before Sunday…I love it!! And I’m sure that you will too! Just click on the image in this post and you’ll see for yourself.

That’s a great idea! I tried the link but it didn’t work. I’m almost forgetting what it’s like to shop in a real grocery store if it weren’t for the occasional grocery shopping on the economy.
