We were finally able to get out of the house today!! Hooray! I cannot tell you how excited I was to leave the confines of this apartment. I love my home, don’t get me wrong, but we had been here since Friday evening because of the snow.
I’m thinking that I-no-like-a-snow. (in the words of EA)
Because it takes us so long to get ready to go anywhere, and I have found that proper preparation is essential to a successful day, I went out to start the car about fourty-five minutes before we needed to leave to go to our FRG’s weekly Army Wives viewing. It has become such a fun time of girl time for me. There are four regulars that come every week…the same group that made up the RAM Divas in the Spouse’s Challenge I did in September.
MC has been fascinated by the snow and how it covers everything, including our car. She looked out the window periodically this morning as we were getting ready.
She was very excited by seeing the snow melt away from the windows of our mini-van.
She called out to me, “Mommy, our car is MELTING!”
Well, not quite, but it was a pretty good assessment of what was going on for a three year old.
When we returned home, I heated up some left-over chili for lunch.
EA asked for chips with her chili, so I put some Fritos in her bowl with the chili.
Well, this was the wrong thing to do.
She thought it was absolutely YUCKY! I wish you could have seen the look of disgust on her face!
I told her that she could pick the chips out and sit them on a napkin, which she was glad to do.
As she did that I said to her, “You know, EA, some people really like chips in their chili”.
Her response was, “Well, I doesn’t. ‘Cuz, I is not some people.”
That was one of the most profound statements I’ve heard in a long time.
Because she was exactly right!
She isn’t “some people”.
She is EA.
Special.
Unique.
And completely one of a kind!

“I is not some people” how wise for such a young one! TOO cute!
