I pray that you all had a very happy Thanksgiving with your family and friends.
We certainly did…we enjoyed Thanksgiving at the DFAC (dining facility) on post. My husband served lunch to soldiers and then we all enjoyed eating lunch together.
I did bake a pecan pie at my husband’s request. I was happy to do it, because I did miss not cooking a big spread this Thanksgiving.
Unfortunately, sometimes cooking can be a challenge in the altitude and climate (no humidity) of El Paso and I was a bit disappointed in my pie this year.
On Friday I took my older girls to see Frozen and we had a blast. It was such a fun movie!!!
And then on Friday afternoon we started decorating or home for the Christmas season.
My husband and I assembled the tree while the kids were still in quiet time.
Because we have a teeny tiny living room in this house, we decided to put our tree in the foyer this year.
The kids helped a lot with decorating!!!
As in, I mostly just handed them the ornaments and helped them put a hook on…
They loved being able to help so much with decorating the tree.
I think this was the first year that Jenny was really able to be a help with this task and she took it very seriously.
Because Jenny is the smallest of our bunch, she has the job of putting the star on the top of the tree.
She seemed to be a little frightened…we have a taller tree this year…but in the end the got the star up there with a smile on her face!
I really wasn’t sure about putting the tree in the foyer, but I’m so happy with it.
It is a beautiful sight to see upon walking into our home.
Did you begin decorating your home for Christmas this weekend?
Is your tree up and did your children help with decorating it?
