Both girls were completely exhausted tonight after a visit from their Aunt Rachel, Uncle Franklin, and cousin Caroline. Instead of having “quiet time”, they played….HARD!
MC became quite upset with me as we were going through our bedtime routine because I didn’t do things the way she wanted me to. For some reason, she decided that she wanted a story before brushing her teeth instead of after like we always do.
While I was talking to her about obeying Mommy and being respectful, I asked her, “Who’s the Mommy in this house, me or you?”
Her response was “Ummm…..my sister is.”
You know, was utterly speechless after that response. There was no way I could respond to her.
Because she was right….for all practical purposes, her sister pretty much runs this house.

I love those moments, when you think you have got things covered, you are leading them though a conversation to teach a point and then pop! out of the blue they throw you a curve ball of truth that you had not really thought about and derail the whole thing. It keeps us on our toes.

All we talked about on the way home was them, how precious they are!!! Franklin, Caroline and I are just CRAZY about them. What darling, darling children…..And I do believe you are right…EA is the mommy of the house! 🙂 By the way, Lili and Jade are exhausted too…didn’t hear a peep out of them on the way home, and they have slept on their pillows all evening! Give them all hugs from us! We love you all!
