On Saturday I took my mom who was visiting to the farmer’s market in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
This farmer’s market is open every Saturday and is such a fun place to visit!
One of my daughter’s was sick with a stomach bug, so my husband offered to stay home with her and our son who just wanted to stay home and play.
So my mom and I went with my other two daughters.
These two are absolutely precious together.
My oldest and my youngest.
My oldest asked for a bag of grape tomatoes to bring home and my youngest gobbled up a bag of homemade chocolate oatmeal cookies.
Could they be any more different?
As we walked along the street, I spotted this older couple playing music and singing for a gathered crowd.
They were there the last time we visited this farmer’s market as well.
Oh, how I would love to just sit with them and listen to the stories of their lives!
I bet they have so much to tell!
There was a sweet humbleness about this couple that I wanted to soak up.
My two girls loved their music so much that they began dancing.
And not just swaying a bit among the other onlookers.
No, these two pranced themselves out into the middle of the street to do their dancing!
Jenny honestly didn’t want to stop. I think she would have danced all day.
She even found a little friend to dance along with her.
After leaving the farmer’s market we headed to La Posta, a restaurant in Mesilla.
We decided to walk around and do some shopping in historic Mesilla to walk off our authentic Mexican lunch.
My two girls spotted an open gazebo in the town square when the dancing mood struck again.
They didn’t care that there was no music playing for them.
They didn’t care that they were the only ones dancing.
They didn’t care that others were watching.
They just danced.
They danced wild and free and completely uninhibited by those things that hold me down and keep me from dancing myself.
I am envious of their freedom.
I long to live, to dance, to walk, to sing, to worship and pray with such wild abandon.
I am inspired by the way that my children live life.
I am blessed to be their mama and to witness God’s hand at work in and through their little hearts dancing and living so wild and free.

Children are so free, aren’t they? I LOVE your blog design. Did you change it recently?
Monica says
Yes, Barbie, children are so free! We can learn a lot from them. 🙂
I’ve had this theme for a while, but I spent some time on Monday designing a new header and cleaning it up a bit. I really love it!!!
