Will had a wonderful birthday yesterday, even though he woke up not feeling well.
We had a relaxing morning at home while Keith was at work.
After Keith returned from work and the kids had their afternoon quiet time, it was time to enjoy cake and presents!
Will is such a sweet and unassuming little boy. When he saw me bringing his presents downstairs, he asked, “What’s that, Mommy?â€
I told him they were his presents and he replied with the sweetest, “For me?â€
It didn’t take him long to get the hang of opening those presents to see what was inside!
Upon the opening of his very first present from Mommy and Daddy my little boy turned into a cowboy right before my very eyes!
He exclaimed, “I’m a cowboy!!â€
“A cowboy rides cows!â€
“A cowboy says, ‘Moo’ ‘Moo’!â€
He didn’t quite know what to do with his cowboy six-shooter.
But he did know what to do with his little guitar.
That’s the one thing that he actually asked for. On the morning that Keith and I were going shopping for his birthday presents, I thought to ask Will what he wanted and he said a “green guitarâ€. I almost blew it off because it was such a strange request. I’m so glad I didn’t! His cowboy guitar may not be green, but he has had a blast playing it and singing for us!
He also got some Hot Wheels cars and a mat to race them on.
And now all three of my kids have pillow pets. The girls got theirs for their birthday and Will got a frog pillow pet from my mom. He was so excited!!
Speaking of the girls….they were so good watching their little brother open his presents.
When I asked Will what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday, he told me that he wanted a cake with “lettersâ€.
That’s about as simple as it gets as far as birthday cakes go!
But he was completely thrilled with his cake. When I showed it to him yesterday morning he said, “Wow! Letters….my letters cake! Blue and green letters!!â€
It took him a few tries, but he finally blew all three of the candles out on his “letters†cake.
Keith asked me where he learned to lick icing off the bottom of the candles from.
“Well from his sisters, of course!â€
“And where did they learn it from?â€
“Well, that would be from their Mommy!â€
His sisters enjoyed having cake along with their brother!
And then our little cowboy played his guitar while I went out to pick up dinner so that we could enjoy a movie night watching one of his new Toy Story movies.

That Toy Story guitar has got to be one of the greatest presents EVER! What a great idea. My little boy loves playing on the little ukelele that his Grammy gave to him and Toy Story is one of his favorite movies.
Looks like a great party 🙂

How Precious! I know this is from last year, when your boy turned 3 – but mine just turned 3 on Monday so I’m a little teary eyed seeing the precious and sweet pictures of your boy turning 3 too! And your boy loves his cowboy stuff and woody. I have a space hero who loves BUZZ – and everything under the sun to do with BUZZ! My poor boy though, his birthday is literally at the end of what I call “Birthday Fest, Palooza, Season” (or when I”m feeling stressed and grumpy – Birthday Hell!) The birthday fest begins on January 31st with my Brother’s (Uncle) Birthday, than proceeds with older sister’s, 1 grandma, another grandma and his Dad’s(Hubby) a week all before his birthday! For the past month my little boy has been saying “My Birfday is COMING UP!” with hands tossed in the air and everything. He even started thanking God at his dinner time prayers for everyone’s birthday and he’s been so upset he couldn’t open a “pesent” for the last 8 weeks! So when his big day finally came, he saw the presents (acidentally) sitting on my bed (they were wrapped! Phew!) he came out and asked me if they were his to open, and when I said “YES, but later.” he came up and gave me a HUGE HUG! That night he was so excited to open presents he literally tripped over someone’s feet dropping off one present to run back and get another one to rip open and he smacked his head on the coffee table! It’s hard for a 3 year old to wait all the way through Birthday Fest to finally get his big chance AND to eat his Buzz Lightyear cake (which is all he wanted…even though that’s what I made LAST year!)
Anyway, Happy Happy Late Birthday to your little bud – and Happy Day to you too Mama! We deserve some extra pats for making it this long with our little “handsom” men!
