We’re going to take a break from Christmas pictures and layouts for today…just a little break, though as I’m working on a December {Documented} album that I’m so excited to share with you!!
I created this layout for November’s One Word Challenge at The Lilypad. The one word we were challenged to use in our layout was “Journey”.
I chose to write about and center my layout around how I am really loving this journey that I am on in life right now.
I feel like I am in a really good place right now.
That can change next week, or next month, or even tomorrow, but right now I am content with my life and the blessings I am experiencing.
I don’t take this for granted for a single second.
I was talking to some friends about this in Sunday School this weekend. We often have a tenancy to feel guilty for being content and for truly experiencing joy. Or at least I do.
In fact, I was hesitant to share this layout for a while for that exact reason.
Why is it that we think that we have to have something bad to write about in order to be “real”?
It’s good to share our struggles and to be real in that way, but realness also means sharing our good times without feeling guilty for them.
I believe that God wants us to be happy! He wants us to be content with the life He has given us!
There is no guilt or shame in being content and happy.
I took the picture that I used in this layout during Week in the Life while we were waiting in the drive-thru line at Sonic.
I just set the phone on the dashboard and used the self-timer.
I think this picture of the kids and I in the car is very symbolic of the word “journey” and I was excited to use it in that way in this layout.
The kit and elements I used in this layout were Part 1 of a blog hop collab by The Lilypad designers and I don’t think it’s available anymore…sorry about that!
How do you feel about your journey in life right now?
Do you ever feel guilty for being content and joyful?
