Happy Friday y’all!!!
This is an especially good Friday since next week is Spring Break…yay!!!
I moved some things around in our house this week so that I’m now able to do all of my teaching from the dining room table with lots of light coming in from our ONE window. It’s so much better for my mental health!! The kids go downstairs to do assignments, but I no longer have to make the trek into the dark basement to teach.
We’re thinking about lots of little changes to improve life a bit for the next year while Keith is in Korea. We’re taking some of those things on during our Spring Break next week. There are several aspects of our living situation here that we were just going to “deal with” knowing that we were leaving this summer. But not that that’s not happening, we’re finding better solutions.
Speaking of Spring Break, I recently realized that this weekend is a time change…yuck! Those are never ever fun!! Earlier this week my kids noticed it on the calendar and told me. I wasn’t quite convinced that it was that time already, but not that my Facebook feed if filled with reminders, I’m convinced! Here’s an interesting article from National Geographic describing the history of Daylight Savings Time.
I found a super cute, fun and FREE handwriting font at Pretty Darn Cute Design. If you’re a Font junkie like me, go grab it!!
Brush Lettering is a skill I’m trying to grow in this year. I wanted to say “master” but I don’t know if mastering it will actually happen. I am doing lots of practicing, though! Dawn Nicole Designs has a great roundup of supplies for Hand Lettering today. If this is a craft you want to learn, you’ll definitely want to check this out!
I’m dying to make this cake for Easter this year! It is beautiful, yet simple. My last attempt at a layered cake was pretty much a FAIL, so I’m scared about tackling this one.
That’s it for today…I’m off to enjoy another beautiful weekend!
I hope you have a fabulous weekend surrounded by the ones you love!
