A little background on this video……
Several weeks ago, the girls and I read in the Usborne Flip-Flap Body Book that “Your baby teeth start to fall out when you are about six. You grow 32 bigger teeth instead.”
EA and MC did not react to this when we were reading, but a couple weeks later it came up in our conversation at lunch, completely out of nowhere.
EA was counting “one, two, three, four, five, six….On my next birthday I’ll be five. And then I’ll be six, but I don’t wanna be six because when I turn six my teeth will fall out and I don’t want new teeth I like my own teeth because I like my smile”.
They were both pretty upset that when they turned six their teeth would fall out.
I explained to them that their teeth wouldn’t just start falling out, that Daddy would probably have to pull them out of their mouth.
Keith gave me a look and said, “Oh, no….I’m not pulling out their teeth!”
So, I haphazardly said, “Grandma’s really good at pulling teeth. She can do it”.
Well….this was a huge mistake!
They then became convinced that they didn’t want to turn six and they didn’t want to go back to South Carolina because Grandma would pull their teeth.
And the conversation just went downhill from there.
It was hilarious!!!!

I guess for a four year old, the whole teeth falling out and fairy coming to your house is a pretty scary concept.

What a delightful video!!!! Grandpa and I have laughed and laughed. Those precious children – Mary Catherine was so descriptive of everything. Elizabeth Anne is still thinking things over. And we enjoyed Will putting his two cents worth in. Thanks for giving us such pleasure on a dreary Sunday afternoon. (It wants to rain, but doesn’t.)

My kids opt to put their teeth in a glass by the kitchen sink – seems ‘safer’ than having the tooth fairy coming into their room.

I wonder if they know it does not happen all at once? losing all my teeth at once would be scary for me how would I eat?

So sweet. They are quite solemn and serious in this video! You’ve got them really thinking this through.
My daughter thought the tooth fairy was the dentist for the longest time. 🙂
