Things have been quiet here on the blog…and in my heart.
I took some recovering after our week at Disneyland. I’ve also been simplifying so that I can get back to my love of this place. It’s been crowded out by other stuff…good stuff, but stuff that has taken away a bit from the love I have of sharing my life here. This is my place and I want to love it. I do love it…I cherish it! And I cherish the opportunity to share the “dwellings” of my heart.
Here’s a bit of what has been going on in my home lately…
Last Saturday these two competed in the AWANA quiz. They were in separate teams this year, but each of their teams took first place! EA also received a “high honor” award for a perfect score on the multiple choice portion of the quiz.
Homeschool has been in full swing! Will learned to multiply by 10, 100 and 1 this week in math.
I love teaching this little boy math! He gets so excited when he gets a concept and bounces up and down and giggles as he gives me the correct answers.
One afternoon I walked upstairs and heart lively talking coming from the girls room, but I was a bit confused because I knew EA was in the room alone. MC was upstairs still working on her school assignments. I cracked the door open to see EA sitting on the floor of her room with tea set up for her doll Marco and her stuffed Minnie toy. She was reading them Winnie the Pooh in the liveliest of voices! This was such an adorable sight!
We did a family 15 minute clean-up after dinner one night and Will was anxious to help out by sweeping under the breakfast table. Crumbs have a nasty habit of accumulating there!
Cupcake has been joining us for school. She’s usually right in the middle of the table when the girls and I are working on their math.
She’s not a fan of having her picture taken, though! Pull out the camera and she’s guaranteed to walk away.
We took the kids to see the Cinderella movie this afternoon. And, oh, it was so, so good!!! It was a lovely movie, wonderfully done!
One sure fire way to know that my little ones have enjoyed a movie or activity is that they come home to act it out themselves. Jenny declared her intentions to “play Cinderella” as we were on our way home from the movie. She borrowed EA’s costume from a couple of Halloween’s ago and she was all set to be Cinderella herself. They’re upstairs acting out every scene of the movie right now and I’m enjoying the sound of their play.

It’s veen a few years since I was here. I used to come all the time when I blogged at Hallee the Homemaker. I have always loved your voice. This morning, I happened to catch your tweet with the blog link. Your kids have grown so much! I loved seeing your catch up.
