Blogging has been hard this week.
Not because I don’t have anything to write as is usually the case, but because I have too much to write about. I have so many thoughts running through my head and no time to sit down with a clear mind and write them out.
So, I’m just going to throw a bit of everything right at you in total random fashion to clear my mind a bit.
* I have a list of posts I need to write that are all reviews of some sort of another.
* I recently used SitterCity to find a babysitter. It was pretty much a fail and facebook saved the day (night).
* We’re nearing the end of our homeschool, but I am going towards more of a year-round schedule, so I guess we’re really not. But we really only have twelve lessons left in our Math. I’m going to be reviewing this year’s curriculum in the upcoming days.
* My husband and I have not taken a vacation together in many, many years. We’ve done several “staycations” though. I am looking forward to spending a few days away from home with my husband in August, but our summer will be spent at home. Do you have any exciting summer plans?
* I am doing a lot of sewing. When I say a lot, that means that I have completed a total of four projects. I made two simple skirts for EA & MC. Both times, I did it with EA in mind, but my measurements and patterns were too big for her tiny waist, so MC ended up with both of them.
* I am also going to work on a shirt for myself this weekend. It’s for the Spring Top Sewalong. I’m really excited about the fabric that I got for this. It arrived in the mail today and it beautiful!! I’m preshrinking it tonight so I can start cutting tomorrow.
* This has been a great week as far as getting out goes. I spend weeks when I have absolutely nothing to do, but this week I’m actually getting out three times….I think I may be setting a record for myself. I had a Chaplain’s wife coffee on Tuesday night, my husband and I are actually going out to eat dinner tonight {that hasn’t been done in eleven months}, and I’m going to take our van to be serviced tomorrow.
* Speaking of taking the van to be serviced….this is an errand that I have always dreaded, but discovered last week when I took it to be inspected that this can be a great time for me! The service place has a nice waiting area with coffee, drinks and snacks, AND there is free wi-fi. So, I’m taking my iTouch and my kindle {maybe even my laptop} and going to have some quiet time at the service department tomorrow. I think I’ll tell them to take their time working on it!
* Jenny is having a terrible time with her afternoon nap. Her morning nap is wonderful, she usually sleeps a good two hours or so. But she does NOT want to nap in the afternoon. That’s when I plan to do “me” stuff like blogging, scrapbooking, and sewing, but I cannot do anything while she’s crying over the monitor. Not that I can blame her for not sleeping with three siblings upstairs NOT being quiet during their “quiet time”.
* I have not had my hair cut in over six moths. I think it’s time to give it another try.
* In other hair related news…I’ve been using Curly Girl techniques on my hair and it’s actually working! I was seriously doubtful when I read other curly headed bloggers raving about curly girl. Now I am a believer right along with them. My hair is curling up so much better and it’s overall so much easier to deal with than trying to flatten it out.
Whew!
What a list, huh?
