We’ve had plans to take our kids on a vacation to Disney Land for months now. Actually, we knew it was something we wanted to do when we moved to this part of the country. We’re just a two day drive and our kids are at a perfect age to really enjoy the magic of Disney.
All summer long our kids have known that we have a “surprise trip” coming up in September. They didn’t know any more than that, though.
I can’t believe I kept it a secret as long as I have…I’m super excited myself, this being my first time going to a Disney park as well. AND I’m terrible at keeping secrets.
On Sunday we decided that it was finally time to let them in on exactly where we’re going on our “surprise trip”.
That afternoon, I went by the Disney store at the nearby outlet shops and picked up a Disney Land Resort t-shirt and autograph book for each of my children. I also picked up pizza for dinner on my way home from getting groceries.
To reveal our destination, we had a pizza party and showed the Disney planning movie to our kids. They got to ooh and aah over every attraction that they want to see…which is basically every attraction at the park!
After viewing the park’s DVD, I gave them their t-shirts and autograph books.
Now we’re just counting down the days until we’re enjoying the magic of Disney Land first hand!

So exciting!! My husband and I went to Disneyworld for our honeymoon but we haven’t taken the kids yet. Would love to but are waiting for the 3 year old to get a little older and little more flexible in personality 🙂

My husband has been to Disney World before with his family. We would love to take the kids to Disney World one day as well…maybe when we’re back on the east coast.
