My daughter woke up thrilled to wish everyone a “Merry Christmas Eve” this morning.
I am constantly being reminded of just how blessed we are.
We are free to celebrate Christmas in it’s fullness.
We have salvation and freedom.
Our sad Christmas tree with only two strands of working lights is filled with presents waiting to be opened tomorrow morning.
Our family is together.
We’re happy and healthy.
We have so much.
But there are many who aren’t celebrating Christmas as we are this year.
There are those who are lost in sin and sadness, living without hope.
There are those who won’t be receiving Christmas gifts this year.
There are those whose loved ones are deployed this Christmas.
There are those who are living estranged from their family or mourning the loss of loved ones.
There are those who are suffering from illness and possibly living out their last days, breathing their last breath.
Today as we celebrate the birth of Christ, my heart is filled with prayers for those who don’t know Him and desperately need to.
Let’s remember those who need to know that despite the harsh realities of their life, there is reason to hope, love and celebrate.
The story of Christmas…Christ coming to earth for our salvation is that reason.
As we celebrate, let’s take the opportunity to pray and to share the eternal hope that we have because of Christmas.
