I had an incredible Mother’s Day weekend, even though my husband was out of town.
My mom and my sister, along with my nephew and niece, came to visit this weekend.
One thing that I longed to experience when we moved back from Germany was for my children to develop a relationship with their cousins. I grew up with a large extended family and some of my fondest memories consist of time spent with my cousins.
So, as I spent the weekend with my mom and sister, my girls and Will spent the weekend playing with their cousins…and play they did!
On Saturday we went to lunch at Chick-fil-A and then took the kids to play at a local Play Room. They had an absolute blast!!! My mom, sister, and I were able to sit down and enjoy conversation while we watched them run from one activity to another the entire time!
I came home on Saturday to learn that I had a flower delivery from Keith. I received a package from Lisa Leonard Designs and was so excited about opening that on Mother’s Day that I was completely surprised by flowers! We weren’t home when the actual delivery took place and getting them was quite the fiasco that I’m saving for another post.
Sunday morning, I was greeted by “Happy Mother’s Day†being the first words out of EA’s mouth…she has such a sweet little heart! I opened my Lisa Leonard package to find the necklace that I have really been wanting…the laundry line with each member of our family’s name stamped on a charm.
We headed out for a buffet breakfast at Shoney’s….yumm!!! And then went to spent the rest of the day at the Children’s Museum of Richmond. Again, the kids had a blast! There was so much for them to do and to experience. We’ll definitely be making many more trips there!
Last night at dinner, EA turned to me and asked, “So, what are we going to do tomorrow, Mommy?â€
Ha!!
I guess she thought we were on quite a roll with the fun activities…a field trip to see The Little Red Hen on Friday, the Play Room on Saturday, and the Children’s Museum on Sunday.
I told her that we weren’t doing anything at all except resting!
And that’s exactly what we did…except she decided to call our day of rest a pajama party. That does sound like much more fun than just resting from a busy weekend, doesn’t it??
How was your Mother’s Day weekend?
