Several weeks ago I noticed a sign for a recreational park near our home. So, last week on our way to the grocery store, I followed that sign to find a wonderful park just perfect for my kids!
I promised them that we would visit as soon as the weather got a little warmer.
I have also been checking accuweather daily in search of warmer temps. Those temps arrived on Sunday and I promised my little ones that we would visit the park after lunch on Monday.
I completely forgot about this being the windy season in El Paso.
Oops.
I also forgot that we are in the desert lands of southwestern Texas and was completely shocked to see this sign in the middle of the playground area.
As we headed out the door to visit the park on Monday, I noticed that the winds were blowing a bit harder that usual, but there was no way I could turn back and disappoint my crew.
By the time we got to the park, the winds were really blowing!
Jenny’s hair was exceptionally wind as always!
It’s a good thing this one doesn’t have any hair to blow around. He loved being able to run and climb!
It was a bit bothersome to me, but I’m a “grown-up”. My kids…they didn’t mind a bit. They were so excited to be outside in warmer weather and on a fun playground that they didn’t care.
We didn’t stay as long as we probably would have had the winds not been tempting to blow me away, but we all enjoyed visiting this park and will be back often, I’m sure.
My kids like to give everything it’s own name, so they have dubbed this park the “Texas Park”. Give us a few more visits and it will become “Our Texas Park”.

We live on the same street as my daughter’s school so its so nice to be able to walk down to the playground there. Sometimes we drive to my other daughter’s preschool and use theirs, its only a few minutes away. This summer we did put up swings in our yard and got an awesome deal on a twisty slide at the end of the summer, $200 slide for $50. Its nice to have the options of things to do so close by!

Oh my! The minute I saw that snake sign I would have loaded my babies up and driven them home. You are a much better mommy than me. I freak at the thought of snakes!! I don’t think I would do so well in Texas! But I love the picture of the sign. I was very relieved that you didn’t actually have any pictures of snakes!!
