EA: “Mommy, will you take me out in the snow?”
Me: “HUH, it’s not snowing, honey.”
EA: “When it snows, will you take me out in the snow?”
Me: “Yes, when it snows THIS WINTER I will take you outside to see the snow.”
Note – Last year EA HATED the snow. Keith took EA and MC out and had to bring EA back in early because she cried, “Me no like a snow!!”
MC: “Mommy, you have to take us out in the snow because my daddy is in Iraq.”
Me: “Yes, I know, I promise, I’ll take you out in the snow.”
EA: “I will like the snow this time. Mary Catherine will no like a snow.”
Me: “Okay, but you can both like the snow. It’s okay.”
MC: “Mommy, you’ll have to wear boots.”
Me: “Okay, I’ll wear my boots to take you out in the snow.”
EA: “Where are your boots, Mommy? Do you know where your boots are?”
Me: “Why don’t we worry about that when it gets cold. We have a while before we have to worry about snow boots.”

Don’t you wonder sometimes where these little questions come from and what triggered them? When our daughter was 3 we had a conversation about eye shape (she is asian and we are caucasian) that I thought was a serious talk, but it ended with her asking “why do pumpkins have triangle eyes?”
Well, that is the fun part of parenting, you never know what’s coming!

I love this! You really never know what is going on in their heads, do you? At least she is prepared!!
