Blogging is fast becoming a very dangerous thing. I can’t pass on the opportunity to tell you about my day or two days, as I am doing in this post.
I love weekends. Even though for me, they’re not much different from every other day, it’s something about it being the “weekend” that makes Saturday and Sunday very special days.
I woke up yesterday and as I went to start a load of laundry before the kids woke up (this DOES NOT happen every day) I noticed something sitting in the middle of the washing machine.
I couldn’t quite tell what it was, so I had to take a closer look:
Yes, that would be an M&M Chocolate Chip cookie sitting as pretty as can be right in the middle of my washer. And I know just who did it and his name rhymes with Bill. I am glad I looked before starting a load. That could have been a mess!!
Will has been in the throes of teething for the past week…he’s getting in at least two molars (possibly three). Because of the pain, he has been quite cranky, clingy and whiny….which is not a good thing. He has also been sleeping a lot more. As in taking a long morning and afternoon nap again…which is a good thing!
While Will was taking his morning nap yesterday morning, the girls and I worked on some “art” together. They painted on their easels and I worked on making them a reward poster.
Since becoming a digital scrapbooker, I have forgotten how long it takes to make things by hand. And I have remembered why I do my scrapbooks on the computer! It took me practically all day to make these reward posters for the girls.
I let them pick out the color of their posters and put stickers on. I printed out stars to Velcro on to their posters when they obey Mommy or do their “chores”. The concept is that when they have all five of their stars on their posters, then they will receive a treat. Then they can start over by earning another five stars. They’re hanging in the hallway outside EA and MC’s room.
I’ve been wanting to start making breakfast for supper maybe once a week. My sister-in-law gave me an awesome cookbook for my upcoming birthday that has a whole section dedicated to this. I can’t wait to try out some of those recipes! Yesterday felt like the perfect day to start this, so last night we had a basic breakfast for dinner, scrambled eggs, biscuits, and sausage patties. The kids loved it!
Today was a pretty quiet day until the afternoon.
We had plans to go to Mindy’s house for dinner tonight.
She called just a little before nap time was over for us and invited the girls and Will to join Luke and Baby Will at the playground. The girls were more than happy to accept this invitation and we headed over to the playground as soon as they all woke up.
All was going well until some bees started buzzing around the slides where they were playing. Mindy and I decided that we would go home to avoid some innocent person getting stung by a bee . She was just going to take MC down the big slide.
I was holding Luke and Will and reminiscing about the time when I could hold both girls in my arms when they were babies when a bee started buzzing right around us. I KNOW that it is not wise to run around and swat at bees, but I also DID NOT want either Luke or Will to get stung, so I was trying desperately to get away from this bee when it flew into my shirt and yes, it stung me!!
OUCH!!!
I managed to squash the creature with my shirt and we quickly gathered everyone together to go to the safety of Mindy’s apartment where I took some Motrin and treated my sting with ice.
Eventually the pain and very slight swelling died down and we enjoyed a great time at Mindy’s house. All the kids had fun playing together. Will even conversed and shared with Baby Will. And we came home with leftovers of a wonderful pasta dish!
I hope your weekend was just as fun and relaxing, well, minus the bee sting! What kind of things did you do?

Love that cookie!!!LOL We didn’t really do anything interesting this weekend. It’s 106 outside right now, so if we weren’t gonna waterpark it, we weren’t gonna do anything!!!

I think you have managed to find hours ina weekend that don’t exist for the rest of us! You accomplish so much. It is impressive. And I love reading the stories about what you 4 are up to.
