The weather has been unusually (or at least I hope unusually) cold here in El Paso.
One of the best things in my mind about moving out to the desert land here in El Paso was warm weather…all year round! Ha…maybe not!
One the day that we began our drive from South Carolina it actually snowed in El Paso.
We saw some remnants of unmelted snow on the mountain tops as we made out way through Texas towards what would be our new home.
The day that we moved into our new home was absolutely beautiful…it was cool in the morning but warmed up nicely while I stood outside checking items off of our household goods inventory sheet as they were brought inside by the movers.
It was warm enough for the kids to enjoy their lunch outside on the patio and have some playtime outside.
The kids had a blast running around the backyard! I love our backyard here…LOVE IT!! It’s fenced in and has just enough room for the kids to run around and get all of their energy out but isn’t too big that it will be hard to maintain.
Since then, it has been a bit too cold for them to go outside and really enjoy being outside, though.
Yesterday it warmed up just enough for me to send them out for a few minutes with jackets on. We all needed it…I desperately needed it for them.
Not long after I sent them out, MC came to the door holding a bit of ice in her hands.
They found ice in the rocks that border our backyard.
Ice, y’all!
I’m holding on to the promise of warmer weather next week and the coming of spring in the desert.
Feel free to remind me of this when I’m complaining about the super hot weather this summer, okay?
