We had our first snow here this weekend.
I knew it was coming so on Friday while the kids were in respite care, I went to the commissary and stocked up. I bought enough groceries to last us through the week. I knew that we would be home bound until the snow melts.
Hopefully, it will be melted enough for us to get out a little tomorrow.
I started talking about the snow to the girls on Friday. Poor MC woke up from her nap Friday afternoon wanting to know why it hadn’t snowed yet, because she took a good nap. I had to explain that it would probably snow later, after she went to bed.
They did wake up to lots of snow on the ground Saturday morning. MC was completely beside herself with excitement. She was thilled. I had promised her right after Keith left that I would take her out in the snow this winter. She began asking go go out in it as soon as she woke up. I was able to hold her off until mid-morning. I decided to go ahead and take them all out before I got my shower.
It was a real chore to get everyone dressed in coats, gloves, hats, and snow boots before we went out. That job probably took the good part of half an hour.
We got out and it was so cold that we were only able to stay out for about two minutes!!
MC loved it but it was very, very cold and she was completely ready to go in from the cold when our two minutes were up.
EA did not enjoy the snow at all last year. Every trip out with her Daddy ended with her saying, “I no like a snow!” I sincerely think that she really wanted to like it this year. She didn’t enjoy it at first, but she also didn’t want to go in when I decided it was time to go. She cried and repeatedly said “But I haven’t had fun yet”.
This was Will’s first real time going out in the snow. He seemed to enjoy it quite a bit. He bent down and rubbed his hands in it. In a sililar manner as to how he plays with the bath water!
But while Will did enjoy the snow, he did not enjoy the cold. Isn’t this face just pitiful??

LOL!!! I totally know what you mean about spending 30 min in getting them bundled up only to spend 2 minutes outside.
I love her quote, “But I haven’t had any fun yet!”
Hope you guys are able to have some fun in the snow…. did you have hot chocolate when you went inside? That’s my favorite part!

These are TOO CUTE. 🙂 I wish we would get snow here in East Texas. Heck, were blessed just to get temp.’s in the low 30s. 🙂
That top picture could be on a Christmas Card. 🙂
