When your little boy wakes you up on Saturday morning telling you that his sister is throwing up, it’s a pretty clear indication that you’re weekend is not going to be the best.
Three out of my four children were struck with a terrible stomach virus yesterday.
My day was filled with cleaning throw up, rubbing backs, replacing blankets on the couch and selecting movies for them to watch.
Our living room resembled a hospital ward more than it did a living space.
The only one that didn’t get struck by this bug was EA and thank goodness, because she was the best helper I could have asked for!
She ran errands of retrieving clean clothes, gathering special blankets and toys for her brother and sisters, and being on guard for the next round of vomiting throughout the day.
She spent her time playing in her room, reading books and watching movies with her siblings without a single word of complaint.
Keith took her out shopping yesterday afternoon and it was a special treat for her. She came home with some surprises from Bath and Body Works and the Disney Store.
By the end of the day we were all exhausted!
Today they’re all on the mend, feeling weak, tired, restless and a bit grouchy.
I’m praying for extra patience and wisdom as I cuddle my little ones and caution them against doing (and eating) too much too soon.
So…how was your weekend? I sure hope it was better than mine!

Wonderful post! Praying for your precious family as they recover and for a tired Mama to have extra strength and energy! Good job EA on your special care for your brother and sisters!

Yes mine was definitely better 🙂 Took my kids to see Disney on Ice. Was the 3 year old’s first time. So fun to watch her face seeing all those characters. Hope everyone gets well soon! Me, my husband and older daughter all had the stomach bug at one time 2 years ago. Was so thankful the other child didn’t get it too! It was rough. Hope everyone else stays healthy!
