In preparation for our trip to LegoLand tomorrow (yes, we are going to LegoLand!), I made an appointment for our van to be serviced.
Keith took it to the car care center early this morning, before his run.
I was busy getting all of our laundry washed up this morning so Keith decided to take one of the kids, EA, on a walk to the post office with him. Boy, do we both miss having a mailbox outside our door!!!
While they were gone, I heard a gushing sound outside and discovered that the rain was pouring down outside!
Immediately my thoughts went to Keith and EA who were at the post office and probably about ready to come home pretty soon. It appeared that the rain was not going to stop at all.
I was tempted to get in the car and go rescue them, but, well…..there was no car. It was still at the car care center for the servicing.
Quite a bit of time passed and I began getting lunch ready for MC and Will.
It was still raining, so after they sat down to eat, I went downstairs to transfer the laundry from the washing machine to the dryer. It was then that I discovered a very wet Daddy and little girl making their way inside.
Keith finally gave up hope on the rain stopping and ran home carrying EA with a promise of a warm bath upon their return home. A warm bath and blow dried hair.
Of all of our children, EA was proably the least likely to enjoy playing in the rain. MC and Will would have absolutley loved it.
But she was a good sport and enjoyed her bath as soon as Mommy got some blog pictures.

Aww poor things! I recently had a similar experience, left the house with full sun parked (way back in the lot) and when we were ready to leave with our groceries. It was dark and thundering and Raining so heavy I could not see the cars in the first row very clearly.

I’m sorry but I couldn’t help laughing at the story. And of course, like a good scrapbooker, your first thought was to get pictures!! Thankfully my family is used to this by now! As long as no one is seriously hurt, expect the camera to come out!

Poor things! At least they didn’t look too upset about it.

Poor things! Though I suspect it’ll be one of those special, funny memories both will cherish for years to come… “Remember when we got stuck in the rain and you carried me home from the post office Daddy?”
Hope you had a great time at Legoland.. can’t wait to see pics and hear all about it! Glad you are having time for some fun family memories!

I’m sure she’ll file this under “Fun with Daddy” in her little brain very soon. I love hearing your family stories with Keith in a starring role again! Miss you guys! Have a wonderful time at LegoLand!
